A Taste of Broome Festival 2023 promises to delight the senses and allow you to experience the best of Broome’s local food, culture, art, performance, music, theatre and film over three days, August 24-26.

The Broome Fringe Festival celebrates the grassroots creative community of the Broome area. 2 – 11 June 2023

Theatre Kimberley is delighted to present the return of The Shorebird Quest, which celebrates the migratory shorebirds of Yawuru Nagulagun / Roebuck Bay. Watch as hundreds of illuminated puppets light up the mudflats under the Kimberley night sky, with storytelling, dance and original music performed by local musicians, and Broome school and community choirs.

Extended to 14th July 2023, Nyamba Buru Yawuru will host WANGGAJARLI BURUGUN at Liyan-ngan Nyirrwa. The WANGGAJARLI BURUGUN story follows the emotional journey of the repatriation.

A solar eclipse will be visible in Broome on Thursday 20th April, at approximately 11.52am, as the Moon covers a large portion of the Sun, so this will be a spectacular sight! We have some local events to help you get into ECLIPSE MODE including a day cruise experience and free community event at Town Beach.

Events held on March 2 and 3 will include the centrepiece Commemoration Service at the Beford Park War Memorial attended by dignitaries including Ambassador of Netherlands in Australia Marion Derckx, Consul-General of Japan in Western Australia Naito Yasushi, and British Consul General in Western Australia Tina Redshaw.

It’s happening again this Friday 2nd December as the streets of Chinatown will come alive for the festive season. This will be our third year with more live entertainment, kid’s actives, food vendors and late night shopping. Come along to this FREE community event.

The 2024 Shinju Matsuri Festival of the Pearl dates are Saturday 17th August - Sunday 1st September 2024

Join us for an unforgettable experience, CinefestOZ Broome is a four day immersive film experience 3-6 of November, and is WA's First Nations Film Festival. Set in the centre of Broome, the inaugural festival comprises a mix of feature film screenings and special events.

Tickets are now available to purchase from the Broome Visitor Centre for the 2022 Stompem Ground Festival on Saturday 17 September!! Don't miss out on this electrifying day of contemporary and traditional Aboriginal music, dance and culture headlined by Midnight Oil.

The proceeds from the annual Environs Kimberley Art Auction go to artists and art centres for works sold, and support the conservation work of Environs Kimberley.

Wander Chinatown shops to browse designs, enjoy live music, free bubbles and canapes, along with fun activities and loads of amazing door prizes. Chinatown Ladies Night will be held on the Friday 5th August 2022 from 5pm.

Plenty of spaces left on the bus tour (28 guests) – the bus tour starts at 11:30am from the Women of Pearling statue to Streeter’s Jetty. A returning bus will depart at 2pm from Streeter’s Jetty returning guests back to the Women of Pearling statue.

Broome Recreation and Aquatic Centre deliver an activity-based program during School Holiday periods. With two sessions daily, these fun activities are sure to keep the kids busy. Suitable for ages 6-12 years.
