Save The Dates – Seagrass Science Adventures in August 2023
The Broome Community Seagrass Monitoring Project invites you to join us next month for seagrass survey events taking place across Broome’s magnificent Roebuck Bay. Everyone is invited and no prior experience is necessary.
On Friday 18th August you are welcome to meet us at the Broome Bird Observatory (BBO) for a pre-event get together, training video and an optional sleepover. The check in time for those staying overnight is 2pm, otherwise you can meet us at the BBO shade-house at 6.30pm for the Daily Bird Log. As a special bonus event, we will also be treated to a presentation on “The Crabs of Broome” by WA Museum Curator of Crustaceans & Worms, Dr Andrew Hosie.
Following this will be four seagrass monitoring sessions across the bay:
- Sat 19th August, meet at Black Ledge, early morn, 4:30am
- Sun 20th August, meet at Town Beach, early morn, 5.30am
- Mon 21st August, meet at Port Slipway, early morn, 5:45am
- Tues 22nd August, meet at Demo, early morn, at 6.15am
