Broome Tours are the only small group tour operator with a powered sailing catamaran. This enables quiet and intimate marine interactions, sustainable operations and the chance to experience sailing amongst an idyllic backdrop.
From start to finish, your time with Broome Tours will be completely stress free. From the complimentary accommodation pick ups, to dipping your toes in the ocean as you embark on the transfer tender to Ballena and then cruising the coastline with a drink in hand enjoying complimentary canapés and a swim as you go, this crew will completely look after you.

Your day starts with a complimentary transfer from your accommodation to a beach landing on the shores of Roebuck Bay. From here, you will dip your toes in the calm waters of ‘The Bay’ as you make a shallow wade on to the awaiting transfer tender that takes you to our catamaran ‘Ballena’. On board, you will be greeted by our vibrant crew a, light morning tea and a nice cup of tea, coffee, juice or even a mimosa for those really eager to slip in to holiday mode. As you sip, we will cruise through The Bay admiring it’s unique scenery which includes mangroves, bright turquoise water and striking Pindan rock formations. Cruising over to the incredible creek systems takes about 45 minutes and being a low powered catamaran, there is little noise to disturb the scenic beauty making it the perfect time to relax and unwind ahead of the next few fun filled hours.
Arriving at the mouth of the creek system, our expert staff will give you a briefing on what to expect and the best techniques to secure your very own delectable Kimberley Mud Crab. Once we’ve shown you our ways, we will take small groups of up to 6 on the adventure tender to meander through the intertwined mangroves in search of the highly sought after Kimberley Mud Crabs. Everyone will have a chance to try their luck at picking a prime spot, casting a pot and the ever suspenseful pulling of the pot. For those still on Ballena whilst the others are having a crack at bagging their elusive crab, our staff will ensure you are completely taken care of as you relax on our comfortable shaded decking.
Once everyone has enjoyed the excitement that is the quest to secure your very own Kimberley Mud Crab, we will show you how to prepare these delectable morsels before cooking them up for you to be enjoyed on board as we make the cruise back through the bay keeping an eye out for wildlife as we go.

With shaded decks and comfortable seating, ‘Ballena’ is a stable platform for great viewing experiences and uninterrupted vantage points. Being a quiet, low powered catamaran allows more intimate and friendly encounters with these giant mammals, encouraging a more eco-friendly and sustainable way to appreciate the great whale migration.

Seasonal conditions may affect start times for this tour to provide the best possible experience for our customers
Cancellation Policy:
Broome Tours Charters: cancellations made more than forty-eight (48) hours prior to departure date may be made without penalty and a full refund will be given to the customer. Cancellations made within forty-eight (48) hours of departure date will result in loss of total costs.
Private Charters: cancellations made more than three (3) months prior to departure date (as logged in operator’s booking system) may be made without penalty and a full refund will be given to the customer. Cancellations made within three (3) months of departure will result in loss of specified deposit and cancellations made within two (2) weeks prior to departure will result in loss of total costs.
The operator has the right to retain all deposits received up to the amount of the cancellation fee and invoices will be issued for any further amounts outstanding.
Weather Cancellations: cancellations made by the operator due to weather conditions will entitle the customer to a full refund of the Fare Price. Please note that if the customer made the booking for a cruise or private charter through a booking agent all refunds of deposits and booking fees are to be obtained directly from the booking agent. Such booking agent may at their discretion retain a booking fee less than or equal to 100% of the total price.
Other Cancellations: cancellations may be made at the operator’s discretion due to mechanical breakdowns which may result in the vessel being unable to operate. If this occurs the customer will receive a full refund of Fare Price. Please note that if the customer made the booking for a cruise or private charter through a booking agent all refunds of deposits and booking fees are to be obtained directly from the booking agent. Such booking agent may at their discretion retain a booking fee less than or equal to 100% of the total price.
Failure to Board: It is the passenger’s responsibility to ensure that they arrive on time at the nominated point of pick up by the courtesy bus or for the departure of the tender for boarding of the vessel. Failure to do so will mean that the passenger forfeits the full fare price to the operator.
Travel Insurance: Please note it is the responsibility of the traveller to arrange comprehensive travel medical and cancellation insurance at time of booking. In the instance of a medical emergency clients must bear the cost of any medical or rescue service required.

Minimum Age Requirement: There is no minimum age requirement for children aboard ‘Ballena’ of Broome Tours. Children are the responsibility of their parents at all times. The captain and other crew members are not responsible for the care or safety of children. Life jackets are available on board for children and adults alike. Adult prices will apply from age 15 upwards.
